It is hard to see a problem here. You got a free paint job in nice colors. However, You should never allow a tenant to perform any kind of work in your rental again. You were lucky this time. Next time it will be a mess that will definately have to be redone and to top it off the tenant will expect at some point to be paid for his mess.
