I'm lucky in one aspect that the previous owners of my builing were cheap/lazy. House is from 1890's, wallpaper on most of the walls (single thickness) and it does not appear to be original, but the naked plaster is apparent underneath. No primer, no paint on 90% of most surfaces. Stain on the rest...
