Residential berber carpet or low cut pile carpet easy to clean and maintain. The carpets used in commercial retail stores is the better choice, but more expensive. We use it on residential staircases and it does not require replacement (15+ years). We prefer hardwood in the living spaces and carpet in the bedrooms.
