This doesn't necessarily raise red flags for me. Given the great variances in property management companies and landlords, someone who has rented for a number of years may have been given no grace period to 7 days grace period. It's all a matter of preference for the property owner/manager. I would assume that asking this type of question would be good, as a way to insure they pay on time, as opposed to looking for a way to pay late.
