I need an attorney's input, please.

I am from Chicago and signed a lease that may or may not be honored by tenant who lives in Las Vegas at the moment and hasn't paid a deposit or responded to requests to get in touch with me. He is due to move in on July 1st. What legal rights do I have?

Are you saying the tenant has not given you ANY money at all with the signed lease agreement?
An agreement without any consideration (money) is not valid.

This forum is mostly read and answered by landlords. For actual legal rights, you would need to consult an attorney in your area for proper advice. Many offer a free or low fee consultation.

Talk to a lawyer. I'd be looking for a new renter. This one is off to a bad start.
BTW: What the heck are you doing signing a lease with no money? Is your side signed?
Tip- always have the tenant sign first so you can review if any changes were made.
