Re: Lease Renewal by Tina (NY) on June 12, 2012 @09:55

"An automatic renewal provision in a lease must provide a space for the tenant to give written acknowledgment agreeing to the provision. If the landlord cannot show the signature, initials or witnessed mark acknowledging that provision, the landlord cannot enforce an automatic renewal of the lease" (Attorney General Maryland)

Do you have the tenants signature?

Are you asking if I have the tennets signature on the lease (YES). There is an initial mark on the paragraph related to the automatic renewal as well. I guess when I get home I'll provide the exact wording.

If the tenant initialed the paragraph, then your all set to enforce the automatic renewal.

However, the tennet, also signed the entire lease. So I'm a little confused. I always thought a signature on the lease pretty much indicates he/she agrees to everything on the lease????
