That's exactly why I filed it the way I did. I'll be more than happy to make the ammendment, as I'm 98% sure the actual amount owed will be far less than $5000. But I'm wondering what happens if they don't respond? Normally that would be an automatic judgement in my favor. But w/ the "to be ammended" does that change things? will a hearing to make ammendment be set no matter if they file a response or not?

Before a court judgment is entered, the claimant landlord will need to document the damages for consideration. The landlord will be required by the court to document and evidence the claim for property damages and/or loss of rent in order to prove the claim (regardless whether the tenants attend the hearing). The documents and evidence being confirmation of unpaid rent and before and after photographs of property damages.
