Tree Fallen-Update

Hi all! I posted a couple of weeks or so ago about a dead tree falling from the property behind my property into mine and damaging the new fence, I just wanted to update on what ended up happening. Per what I read about the law, this was really my problem if I never notified the other property owner about the issue and they were unaware of it. I might be wrong about this but this is what I thought was what was going to happen in my case. I ended up calling my HOA, the owner of the property behind mine, it's really just a little strip of land between my house and the county road. They actually had someone come over, remove the tree from my property, and repairing everything! I think I lucked out, and I spoke the right way to the right person, and they decided to be nice and help. I was told by my tenant that the neighbors had a tree fall on their property from the HOA area as well and they had been fighting with the HOA about it for 2 years now and HOA did nothing, so I think it had to do with the way I asked for help ;) Anyway, thought I'd share, sometimes communication and the way you talk to people with respect and niceness can get you places...sometimes at least! :)

Probably had more to do with now that the tree has fallen and done damage, they had a lawsuit on their hands.
