Yes, some States require the landlord notify the tenant of any interest the tenants security deposit earned. What State are you in?

Connecticut- the thing is - there is no security deposit left, based on the damages done already. We not talking wear and tear, but broken window by kids playing ball in house, holes made in wall, etc. I can inform her what the interest would be (if there was security left)but I have no intention of paying her interest now before she move. She just needs to pay her late fees now and start paying rent on time. The suggestion to have three months record to show cronic lateness sound fair. If there is any other ideas, please help me.

You should have never used the SD until the Ts leave. Instead you should have billed the willful damages as added rent, and evicted when it wasn't paid, thus keeping the SD intact.
