I like to post as anonymous because it's one less login account I need to deal with. Frankly, I'd probably participate less if I needed to login in order to post. The anonymous option is just one less wall to climb.

It doesn't make for difficult reading. What makes for difficult reading are posts in run-on sentences, no paragraphing, not enough details, incoherent thoughts, trolls, unhelpfulness as with Jake sometimes, etc...

Allow the site to set a cookie or let your 'puter remember the logins details. It is very easy to not deal with it.

I don't log in to respond to questions. I just type in "OK-LL" on the name line -- very simple and takes a second. This allows readers to follow individual posters' responses and formulate their own idea of the reliability, skill & knowledge that particular poster displays. I can't tell one anonymous responder from another and therefore can't assign any level of expertise to any of them. It's a shame, as I'm sure some of them are good at what we do, but I don't always take time to wade through all the anonymous responses.
