Tortious Interference or not

Lease says I can show my home for sale. A buyer who saw the home last year noticed I listed it again and wants to buy the house. Buyer contacts me, sends me pre-qual, a letter of intent, and a check of 1% of the purchase price. Tenant gets 24 house notice that buyer will be conducting final walk through. Buyer shows up at the home but tenant does not permit entry. Tenant instructs neighbor to scare away buyer. Neighbor convinces buyer that he is overpaying for the home. Neighbor says that the tenant has the right to obstruct entry via courts. Buy gets turned off, pulls out of the deal, and asks me for his money back.

Probably, but is it worth pursuing?
Buyer put earnest money down. Buyer is not entitled to money money for losing interest in the purchase.

you're selling a property and you aren't present during a walk through but leave it up to the tenants to aide the buyer?
I guess the lesson learned here is next time you need to be there yourself and keep anyone from speaking to the prospective buyer

The buyer did not have 'right of entry' only the landlord or repersentitives do, which the buyer is not. You may be the one who has interfered with the tenants right to 'quiet enjoyment' of the property.
