You really don't comprehend what the situation here is, do you? I haven't changed it once. I gave him 60 days in mid May. That means I have to pay for June and July, correct? Yes. So if I hold on to the keys until 7/31, I am not violating any lease agreement or 60 day notice. The landlord here, knowing I am being transferred to start work 7/2 in another state, is assuming I'll be out earlier than that because I did tell him I would be leaving next week.

Do I know for a fact he has a signed lease for 7/1? No. I do know he is advertising it available 7/1 online, however. I also know he is showing people the neighborhood, yet he hasn't contacted us to show the unit, because he knows it's shady.

I can't believe you landlords see NOTHING wrong with what this guy is doing. I see plenty wrong with me breaking the lease earlier. That's why all this money is being paid to him already. If I saw nothing wrong with it, I'd just up and leave and leave him to his own demise. It's when one thing comes up after another that he wants more money for me breaking this lease because he knows my company is paying for it that pisses me off. He's a greedy SOB that thinks he's stepped into a cash machine and he has to grab all he can in those 30 seconds.

For those who think this is fake, I guarantee you it's not. Face it, you have greedy landlords out there. I'm just trying to mitigate my company's damages like he should be trying to mitigate his, not profit handsomely off of it.
