True... anyone COULD lose their job at any point, but that's an unforseen circumstance. This guy KNOWS she's losing her job and her income. Rather shadily I might add. Big difference here.

She's not losing it, she is quitting. At least if she got let go she could collect unemployment for a while.

The landlord says the tenants meet her criteria to lease as of now. The landlords fear is based on the tenant quiting her job to raise a child. How do you know the tenants' do not have other funds or source of income to maintain the rent?
Sounds like this landlord is having second thoughts about having a baby/child in the rental and is looking for an excuse not to rent.
Perhaps the landlord could seek any additional money in deposits or last months rent to help negate the fear.
