If the house was built in 2005 it probably DOES have poor insulation. The cracker jack boom houses were built poorly with lots of cut corners.

I have property in the area and our AC's don't run all the time. My own house we keep the temp at 72 during the day and 70 at night and our electric bill was $196 for June. Our AC runs about 1/3 of the time when it's 105, and maybe 15 minutes an hour during the day when it's 95.

You need to do an insualtion inspection and maybe clean the AC.
