If you want more information regarding what can be deducted from your deposit then I would look up normal wear and tear. There is a vast amount of information that describes what is normal wear and tear and what is considered damaged.
Good thing you took pictures on the way out. \ As a LL I take pictures as I am doing the cleaning and come across proof of damage and dirt.

Yea, I've asked him for pictures of anything. He doesn't have any. He didn't do any of the work himself, he hired it all out. He just said he didn't need to take pictures of "routine move out cleaning". Essentially saying it's standard for him to clean the carpet and hire a maid service and painters. When I asked him why that wasn't done when we moved in, he just said "I didn't have time, you wanted to move in too quickly". Nothing was ever said about us waiting a day or 2 for move-in so this could happen. We signed lease on a Sunday and moved in on a Thursday. What happened between Sunday and Thursday that he couldn't have had all that happen I have no clue.

The LL does not have to provide you with the pictures. He/she should save them for the court.
He didn't do the work because a LL cannot claim for their own time doing the state work. They must hire someone to perform the work.

Anything that LL does that is "normal" cleaning, is not your responsibility. You are responsible for returning the unit to the condition it was when you moved in, minus normal wear and tear. If the LL chooses to hires services as a matter of course, it is not your responsibility. The LL must also show that this has been done in the past after every previous T to even make the claim of "normal move out cleaning." The LL could have refused to let you move in until after the cleaning was done, the lack cleaning before you moved in is not your responsibility.
