Were the glass shards inside the house, ie broken from outside, or lying on the ground outside, ie someone from inside the unit broke the glass and is blaming a bird....

Let's be honest Detective, anything from the outside could've broken it. A ball, rock, etc., there are a lot of things that are not a bird that could've broken it from the outside as well.
