I won a judgement against former teneants who I got out of the property by 3 day notice to quit. I hae filed the abstract withthe county clerk. the judgement is for nearly 9000. in damges, fees, etc etc it was totally trashed. Has anyone sold this kind of debt to a collection agency with any luck?

The only judgements I have ever been able to sell to a collection agency (as opposed to paying them to collect it) were the few that I had done all the 'leg work': found their assets, jobs, etc. And, I was able to demonstrate to the collection agency that those few were 'collectable'. Then, they only offered me pennies on the dollar.
However, in the case of tenants that get evicted, my guess is that they don't have solid jobs, assets, etc. to get a judgement against...
The collection agencies are up to their eye balls in debt collection for secured loans. Once you have done all their leg work for them..and proven the debt is collectable..you are better off doing it yourself.
