Gave a month to month tenant residing in CA a 30 day notice. Tenant has refused to leave. What is the next step if he does not leave after 30 days?

1.) Post a notice to move 2.) File an eviction if tenant does not move 3.) Get a judgment against said tenant 4.) Tenant must move within court appointed time frame 5.) Tenant has police kick him out, you change the locks, his stuff gets stored in a storage unit at his expense and is no longer your problem.

You'll want to wait for an answer from a CA LL, but generally, if tenant remains after the expiration of the notice to terminate tenancy (given by either LL or tenant) LL doesn't have to post anything at all, LL simply goes to court and files an eviction suit for holdover.
