Re: How to reject an applicant if I do not like him?

Confirm that the potential applicant meets all of the landlord’s rental requirements. If not, this would be the grounds for rejecting the application. The fact that the landlord believes the tenant is “aggressive, demanding, assuming, and condescending” likely means the prospective tenant has been overly critical of the premises or the lease agreement. We have been known to advise tenants that the premises do not meet their standards because of their demands to paint, remove bedroom carpeting, or desire for stainless steel kitchen appliances, in an otherwise spacious property in a quiet community.
