Electronic Signatures by Anonymous on July 16, 2012 @12:33

Do some LL's prefer to do business via email? Is typing the name enough to secure a lease via the "Intent to Renew" form? I'd like to put the following:

*By typing your name you have created an electronic signature as legally binding as your handwritten signature.

I would say no.........use paper and certified mail in case you ever end up in court.

That is not what an electronic signature is. Anyone could typr the name for anyone else.

An electronic signature is just that, a signature that's signed electronically.
