Bed Bugs by kathy (MI) on July 17, 2012 @10:50

I have a tenant that has had his apartment treated for bed bugs 3 different times now. Can a landlord evict someone for a reoccurring bed bug issue? He holds a section 8 voucher.

If this is a violation of your clean & sanitary lease clause, you can post a c/q, but you'd have to repost with each episode, I believe. Or you can try to argue that his unsanitary living conditions are creating a health hazard to the building and other tenants and evict under that rule.

No you cannot evict. Get rid of the tenant, and the cluttter, and spray heavily. Then, get non-section 8 tenants.
