I have rental property single family home. We have carpet in the bedrooms and tiles in the living room and kitchen. I am tired of cleaning the carpet or putting new one everytime tenant leaves. I am thinking about putting the tiles in all the bedrooms. Do you think tenents will like tiles or carpet....

I have a few rentals that we have done in all tile. I have not had anyone complain, most like the easy up keep and they put down their own throw rugs. The only thing I suggest is dark grout. I also do make sure that the tenant understands that they must do a thorough grout cleaning before they leave or they will be charged.

Some landlords are charging a carpet tax to replace all the carpet when the tenant leaves even if it is a short term and the carpet is still good.

I vote for hard floor. So much easier clean up.

Most of mine are ceramic tile throughout. No one complains. They get their own rugs.
