Prospect calls back by Stephen (WA) on July 24, 2012 @18:11

Just wanted to share this and maybe hear your experiences.

I have regularly heard from prospects after showing them a vacant apartment that they will let me know one way or the other regarding the apt. This is said as they walk out the door. Today, for the first time, I actually had someone call back to say they were going with a different apt. While I would have preferred to have received and approved an application, I am amazed that someone actually followed through.

The better renters will do this, but it is a rarity.

Some prospective candidates can appreciate the time taken by the landlord to schedule a showing of the apartment, just as the potential renter has to schedule time to make appointments and view multiple apartments. When the respectful candidates call back to confirm an interest in another property, the landlord should take the time to confirm the differences between the accepted property and the one passed (your property) … (this will help improve the screen and show process for the future)

Makes you a little sad that they passed on the apartment because they indicate with that one action that they are considerate and respectful.
