Re: DirecTV installed dish & coax w/o permission - Landlord Forum thread 301718

Re: DirecTV installed dish & coax w/o permission by Jane (Texas) on August 14, 2013 @02:10

I manage a townhome here in texas and am employed by an individual that owns the property, not a company. My boss doesn't allow dishes to be installed on the building which is understandable but now he says that I must enforce a new rule of no more tenants getting a dish. Even on a pole. I am not sure that he can legally do that. I think he can prohibit the dishes being installed on the roof or the side of the building but I do not think he can legally tell a tenant that they may not have a dish (on a pole) I have at least 15 tenants who have then on poles so how can I tell another tenant that they can not get a dish when nothing is being done to get rid of the poled dishes that are already on property?? It is no where in our leases either. So if a tenant gets a dish knowing we "don't allow" them anymore, there is nothing we can do correct? I am only asking because I dont believe that my boss knows what he is talking about.
