Is it still freezing up there? If it is, the landlord is afraid of freeze damage if the unit goes without heat.

Explain to the landlord that he can take possession of the rental now or wait to see what happens for a month without heat. Ask for a statement that you do not owe for May. If he complains about the belongings in the place, tell them they are being abandoned.

mississippi, in the 70's weather,,my thoughts are that LL is afraid i cant clean out the place with no elec,,,problem is my nephew says for me to stay out of his place,,he has thoughts of getting out of jail next week,,(I dont see that tho), so I cant even set foot in his place until sentenced next week, then gives me only a week to clean the place out,,I dont want to spend another cent on him much less tote his stuff to the town dump,,,man I had no idea what I signed up for..and LL is being nice, or a wolf in sheeps clothing,I dont know anymore,,and thanks for taking the time to let me vent, I am a nice guy and hate all this happening,,,,,,,,,

    Your landlord is not being nice when you are getting milked as you are.
