Personally belonging to a "foreigner family" I take HUGE offense to general statements like this.

Other than mine, you could eat off the floors in the kitchens of most of my family. No one in my family or extended family had "domestic labor they are accustomed to in their home countries" . I also don't see a sense of entitlement ... I see people who are willing to work 12, 14 hours a day to get ahead and give their kids a chance not available "back home".

My family came here understanding VERY little English ... they worked hard and those of us who were born here understand hard work and family.

I have NO idea what a TOTALLY ignorant comment like "the only time I wil respond to a foreigner's inquiry is if they are fully aware of their negative stereotypes and addressed each up front in their initial inquiry"..

There are PLENTY of people born in the U.S. who are ignorant, disgusting pigs, rude, mannerless, sense of entitlement (hello ... check out the entire welfare system overload), etc. It has nothing to do with race, religion, color, etc.

Well if your house is the exception not the rule. Because they work 12-14 hours/day, they expect you to do the same for them. Why bother dealing with that expectation when there are plenty of locals who are handy and proactive ?
