Thanks Nicole, same where I live. This is what I was doing, and I will continue this way.

Paying with a Credit Union or Bank check, she has a receipt anyway : I do not understand why she wants a second one. Well, those rent receipt stories are for the tenants paying cash - I am right ? When paying by check, I assumed they do not need a receipt.

oh, I just read your previous post -these are the people upstairs that were making the noise. Now I understand regarding the receipt just mail it. Also, be prepared for other little things they will do. This is a minor thing. Mail the receipt. Good luck.

Yep ! they are the one ... and I am prepared ;)

The thing is: if we, as landlords, would like to do petty disturbing things like that against our tenants, everybody will cry "retaliation!" against us.

I said it once, I am saying it again : yes, tenants are retaliating against us landlord in a thousand ways and we are not well protected against it.

    oh well.

"tenants are retaliating against us landlord in a thousand ways and we are not well protected against it"

Lisa, let me clue you in on something, since this isn't the first time you've said something like this.

YOU are creating a situation where you are catering to a demanding tenant and then acting surprised when they continue to demand. As someone else pointed out, stop being walked on.

You don't need the government to protect you against demanding tenants. YOU need to screen better and treat this as a business and not give in to unreasonable demands.

Tell the tenant you will no longer be hand delivering receipts and you'll mail a receipt once the check clears.
