roomate letting others stay - Landlord Forum thread 321667

roomate letting others stay by Anonymous on July 22, 2014 @23:16

My son is away at college where he is living in a townhouse with two other students. All the boys have separate leases and keys to their own rooms. The common areas are shared.
When my son left to come home for Summer break, he locked his room [his things are still in there)
My other son went to the townhouse today and found his lock broken and someone else's belongings in there. Apparently the roommate that is there has let someone stay in my son's room. They broke the lock to get in. What recourse do I
have apart from telling the leasing office what is going on.
thanks

Report this to the police. This is breaking and entering.

Have the landlord notified of this crime and follow up with the police to peruse the offenders.
