Pet rent is necessary to collect money along the way for the inevitable carpet replacement that's going to be required after the pet owners move out -- why should the landlord have to chase them down later in a court action? Pet fee and pet rent are absolutely legitimate and serve a specific purpose for the landlord. But you're not a landlord are you, Bill?
