Thank you for your help. This is only our second tenant, and we've decide that property ownership is not for us. It is very stressful and I don't know how people manage more than one other property. I'm impressed. As I understand it, under Iowa Code Section 562A.27A, you can evict for physical assault or the threat of physical assault. The notice is a 3 day notice. We sent it certified mail and that means they really have between 7 - 10 days, (service waiting period requirements). Then we can file for an FED to be heard as long as they have 3 days notice of the hearing from service and after that the judge decides whether or not there was a threat and if there was, then the judge sets the move out date. Now I just have to wait for these people to spaz out. Not looking forward to it.
