Roommate Contract - Landlord Forum thread 323527

Roommate Contract by Aaron (Kentucky) on August 29, 2014 @00:40

I was trying to get out of my lease by having someone sublease my apartment. I live with 3 people in a coed living space. We were all given coed agreement forms as part of our leasing contract. The names on my leasing contract are not the people I am living with and I was never given a new contract to submit once all the new roommates moved in. The form is also notorized and signed by a guarantor. Am I legally able to break my lease since my contract states that I agreed to lived with 3 specific people, yet only 1 other lives there?

Ask your landlord. His is the only opinion that matters.

What does your lease say, specifically, about subletting?
