The tenant is making a request for a reasonable accommodation which can be either written or vebal. The request is to have a companion animal under the the requirements of the FHA. The note/letter from her Health Provider is important as it states the tenant has a disability and is prescribed a companion animal.

The landlord is required to make a reasonable accomodation reguardless of a 'No Pet Policy'. Failure to do so could result in a costly experience for the landlord.
