A basic requirement for a lease includes an address for legal papers to be served.
BASIC LEASE PROVISIONS At a minimum, State law requires a written lease should include ● Landlord’s name, address and phone number.(or other person who is authorized to receive legal notices for the owner) ● Address of rental property. ● Amount of monthly rent. ● Rent due date and grace period (if any). ● Amount of security deposit and conditions for its return. ● Length of lease.
Counties maintain information about property value and ownership, as well as tax payments. This information is open to the public and can often be found online in searchable databases. You also may also be able to call the Tax Assessor’s office and give them the property address in order to find out the mailing address of the landlord.
