actually, if you don't show up and sign something giving the landlord possession, he's going to send the constable to post the empty property and then schedule the "lockout" ... that's the legal process. The magistrate is going to find against you monetarily for whatever the landlord is asking ... unless you show up at the hearing with your "defense". You also are going to be paying the costs so if you are as poor as you claim, it's in your best interests to get in touch with the landlord and get this finalized now before any further costs are expended ... because you're paying them.
