The investigator sent a sample agreement, saying that if a settlement is reached then the case will be closed, but my husband has to take a training class on fair housing.

In fact the investigator seems eager to have us agree to a settlement--reply to our e-mail within 45 minutes with a long message plus a sample agreement.

So, to clarify, has every communication been by email? Where exactly did you find the phone number to contact this group? One thought, if you are 100% certain the people you are communicating with are real, get the lawyer everyone has been telling you to get. Good luck with this.
