Your story seems to change quite abit. You stated that you a "received a formal complaint from Michigan Dept of Civil Rights and the HUD" Then you stated you recived an 'Email' from the Michigan Dept of Civil Rights. Now you are saying you have received a second Email from the Michigan Dept of Civil Rights and that they are asking for less damages.

It seems that you have been in contact several times with them. Maybe you are not straight forward with all the information or you are just scamming the people on this forum?

first contact is a mail, then phhone and e-mail by Anonymous on October 27, 2014 @01:21 [ Reply ]
I googled Michigan Dept. of Civil Rights, called the phone number listed and confirmed the name of the investigator.

Anyway, I am talking with attorney and landlord association Monday.

Thank you all for suggestions. Will report back.

First a mailed in complaint. Then contacts via phone and e-mails.

The complainant's resolution offer is also related by the investigator in an e-mail.

I do feel this investigator is handling the case very unprofessionally.

Maybe should send a letter maybe to the head of the department?
