First make the investment in the book NOLO Landlord guide for NY (or something like that) Attempting an eviction of a rent stabilized tenant without prior experience is kind of like trying to learn how to fix your car, by restoring a Ferrari in your garage, Potentially very expensive and probably not very successful. Just ask yourself how many months of rent will it take to equal the attorney's fee?

They say "an attorney who represents himself has a fool for a client."
And the attorney knows what he is doing.
Imagine people who don't know what they are doing when they represent themselves what fools they are.
I guess a few more months wont cost that much and then you'll have to pay the attorney anyway.
