Hi, everyone. I'm here in Michigan and new to this forum. We have a couple rental properties. Just have some bad luck(or bad judgement) with a renter. She started having problem paying the rent on the second month after she moved in. She now owe us 3 months of the rent. We evicted her. Don't know if her wage or bank account can be garnished. But we have her social security number. How to add eviction to her credit report or public record? She said it was her first time renting. Now I don't know if that was true or not. I don't like when people take advantage of other people and can get away with it. Anyone here from Michigan can give any advice? Thanks

You can’t actually report a debt directly to the three big credit bureaus. If you win a judgment against a tenant, most credit reporting companies already have ways of discovering such judgments and registering them on the individual’s credit report.

An eviction becomes a permanent part of the tenants background records. Once that court record is created it is forever. Any background search will reveal that eviction record, there isn't anything you need to do except evict them.
You need to have a money judgement against them. Make sure the county court clerk reports it to the big 3 credit agencies. Some counties require additional payment for this service.

You can actually report a debt onto the tenants credit report. I've done it and many other LPA members do it.
