Collection Agency Recommendation - Landlord Forum thread 330127

Collection Agency Recommendation by Mercuryco (Colorado) on January 19, 2015 @16:33

Hi
I'm looking for recommendations for a collection agency that is aggressive and has a high success rate. Prefer a Colorado Company but would consider a national group if they are top notch. I have a judgment in place.

Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

You are not going to find a collection agency that is willing to take your collection.

They know that trying to chase a deadbeat ex-tenant is both a waste of time and money. BUT..if you are willing to pay them, they will do it. But you will not get any money because they aren't going to get any.

If you skip-trace this tenant, and you can provide to them the current address, complete list of attachable asserts, current employer.....you might get them to take it...but you will only get pennies on the dollar IF they ever collect anything.

What I am saying is...give it up. It isn't going to happen. Content yourself with making sure it is reported on their credit.

I should also state that I do know where the tenant lives and that the tenant works for themselves through an online service provider.

I use Continental Collection in Denver. They do a lot of work for landlords.
