In my state, the lease ends on a specific date with no notice required, unless notice is required in the lease. My leases all say a 30-day notice is required, and without notice the lease rolls M2M until we receive notice (either in writing or by discovering the rental is vacant). Read the language of your lease to determine what was required of you by way of notice or whether the lease was assumed to convert to M2M after the end of the first term.
