One thing you will want to do on your application is to not only ask about convictions, but if there are any "Adjudication Withheld", which simply means that some criminal conduct likely took place, but the court is not entering a conviction. The judge sets forth conditions that must be met, and if those terms are satisfied, the conviction is not entered. For example, if applicant was arrested for drug possession. The judge may order applicant to attend a treatment program. You want to have the right to exclude from your applicants anyone who has had an "Adjudication Withheld" on their record.

Thanks very much, MrDan. I had never heard this before, and I'll be updating my app tomorrow.
