How much can a septic system handle? - Landlord Forum thread 332516

How much can a septic system handle? by Dawn Young (WA) on March 23, 2015 @15:19

If we were to buy a one bedroom house on a one bedroom septic,(rented to one person) and bring out an rv, hook it into the septic, (and rent it to one person--Knowing that they will each have visitors occasionally)---are we going to have septic problems?

Most likely you will have problems with Code Enforcement or Building Department in your area because your property is not zoned for what you are thinking of.

Besides the zoning thing you will quite likely have issues with the septic system. They come in various sizes and installed with the consideration of the number of drains in the unit. if you add more drains you will overload the system.

I don't know what a "one bedroom septic" is.

How many gallons is it?
