You have a tenant -- the son and the estate. Both are entitled to notice to terminate the tenancy (assuming no lease), or a pay or quit notice, depending on what happens April 1st. There's no grace to move out the deceased's property; if his property remains in the rental, rent must be paid (either by his estate or his relatives).
