We now have a card file containing names of tenants, SS# and previous landlords for the lanlords of our city to use. However, the problem with this is we have to contact the personel of the office where these are kept. Some landlords here have bad relations with this company. This is a great idea as there is no one person controlling the file. We will bring this up at the next meeting. What kind of info can we provide on this site and how easily can this info be retreaved off the web. Could we join and enter info in for all landlords here or would each one need to join. The problem is there are many older landlords in our city who do not have a computer but would drop a note in the mail or give them to us at meetings. I don't know but this is a badly needed service. Thank you for any suggestions. >> >> Hi Tony, One of the reasons of the deadbeat database being a "Members Only" service of the LPA is for the reliability of the information, (plus of course it is one of our main attractions in recruiting new members). The accuracy of the information that gets entered on the DBDB is guaranteed by the member who is entering it and is coded to that landlord's membership. It is of course for the viewing of members only. If everyone had free access to report and view this kind of confidential information, well you can probably imagine what kind of kaos would break loose. The credibility of the whole idea would be gone once you have tenants making their own reports. I hope we can get your associates and fellow landlords to join us and start reporting tenants! Feel free to call me if you'd like to talk more about it. 1-877-9-theLPA John
