Well..
this is the way I always handle it. I wait until the judgment is handed down from the court (usually about 3 hours till it is in the Clerks' office). Then, I take the copy and make sure it is in the hands of the Marshal that same day. I don't know where you are with a backlog that deep...but.. in WNY it is usually only a 72 hour stay issued by the Judge. The Order is immediate. I let the tenant know by phone or email that I have the order. I let them know they have 3 days to get out before the Marshal is there. Except for one case..they have always left before being put on the street. It took the Marshal only those 3 days to get out to the property to post it while I changed the locks.
So..go to the court today and get that order. Contact the Marshal right away. Don't fail to follow thru just because "you heard there was a 6-8 week backlog". The longer you wait..the longer it will take.
