Here is how you do collections. You go on with your life and do what you need to do. However never just let it go. Remember once a month to put in an hour or two making sure that you will eventually get paid back. Make sure this stays on the record and that you keep up with the garnishments and raiding the bank account or however it works so eventually the deadbeat will get tired and pay up.

I don't know if you need an attorney to do collections. Do some research and figure out how the system works.
