When does a houseguest become a tenant? (Score: 1) by Anonymous on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 @15:51
Is it based on the length of time the person has been a houseguest?

Is it based on whether they receive mail at my address?

Is it based on what belongings they have in my residence?

Is it based on any money (cash) changing hands, even if it's a small amount to reimburse for groceries?

Does it matter if it's my own condo or SFH or townhouse?

How does one go about *legally* getting rid of a houseguest who refuses to move out? Do I have to put it in writing, which would kinda mean they were a tenant? Can I just put all their stuff in bags and put the bags on the front lawn and change the locks?

Thanks you for help.
