The Department of Justice amended the ADA definition of 'Service Animals' on February 17th 2011
From US Dept of Housing and Urban Dvlpmt
"The DOJ's new rules limit the definition of "service animal" in the ADA to include only dogs. The new rules also define "service animal" to EXCLUDE [my caps] emotional support animals. This definition, however, does not apply to the FHAct or Section 504."
Apparently there is a separate provision for miniature horse.
Here's how to get an emotional support animal. http://www.servicepoodle.com/how-to-get-an-emotional-support-animal
I think I want an ocelot or maybe an Arabian mare... ;O)
Interesting twists and turns. Too bad some folks take advantage of things and ruin it for the people who could really benefit from, or need, a companion animal for emotional support.
