Yes, I allowed the tenant to use a room in basement. This
is a two-family in which the tenant lives on the 1st flr.
The second floor apartment was vacant for 6 months. When
the new tenants moved in and asked to store some items, air-conditioner, etc. In Court she claimed the basement
was part of her lease. Of course, it is not. It is
to be used by all tenants and Landlord. She placed a lock
on the outside door to the basement when the new tenants
moved in and had problems with them. In Massachusetts,
the Law rules more times for the tenants rights.
