My property is one that has an overwhelming response of prospect tenants and is in a neighborhood that people want to live in. Because of this my criteria has been created accordingly.

This time I am going to adjust. In the past I have required that at least one person make 3X the income. The other tenant(s) income is a plus to there households lifestyle. Following is the new and improved set up of the criteria and I would like to make sure I am A.OK.

Hypothetically let us say the rent is $1000.

A)If person 1 makes $3000 per month gross income their income qualifies.

B)If person makes $2500 then person 2 must make $1000.

C)If person 1 makes $2250 then person 2 must make $1400.

I am pretty sure as long as I am consistant then there is no foul, correct?

The only thing I ponder is if in senario A that I should require person 2 to have some type of income. The reason being for not requiring person 2 to have an income is what if person 2 is a stay at home mom. Any other senario besides the above mentioned I would like to see that the second person does have a job. Not sure how to make that acception though.
